I call this "MIZZOU Vortex".  This was commissioned by a friend/colleague who is a Professor at the University of Missouri.  This bowl has 2,113 individual pieces of wood and is made from Wenge, Yellowheart, and Maple.  This bowl has a diameter of about 13.5", height about 7" and wall thickness of 0.25".
